Oculus Go Standalone VR

So I was thinking about getting this. $200 sounds like a fair price for "entry VR" and a lot of people are saying it looks better than other VR headsets. It definitely beats all the other prices I've been seeing from HTC Vive, PS4VR, and Oculus Rift VR (which I can't use because I don't have USB 3.1).

I have zero experience with VR though, wondering if anyone here knows anything about it, or maybe this might even interest you all too. ^.^

(Before anyone asks, I can't try on a smartphone because I (regrettably) bought a Motorola G4 and it doesn't support ANY VR headets. -_-)

I'd say don't buy it. VR is good just for the experience. To explain: there's a guy around here who owns a PS4 gaming cafe, who decided to open a section for PSVR. He got a huge surge of people for a couple of months and felt like it's gonna hit a huge profit. But then it immediately died down. If you asked anybody if they did enjoy it, they all said they did, but it wasn't something they're willing to always do. And just found it as a nice experience.

I'd say you have to at least give it a try before buying. Ask a friend who has it if any. If by chance it felt like something you're willing to try again, go for it.

While this price tag looks tempting, I still don't think it's worth it.

It's $145 on Ebay right now, new and unopened. To be honest, I'm more interested it it for the convenience of the theater mode more so than the VR. I have a cramped room and a large TV is impossible to fit. The VR itself is just a plus to get the experience at least once in my life. Sadly I can't try it anywhere because stores don't sell it retail, it's online only. :(

Well after ordering it the seller tried to scam me and sent out a fake tracking number. Ebay verified he was a fraud and said it was "dealt with". I should've listened to you @RyouBakura The seller later admitted the devices are many times faulty, burn out, and get dead pixels within months of buying them. He also claimed he "accidentally ran out of stock" so it looks like his account will stay up. Funny, because all the scam reports are about buyers and not sellers on Ebay. Guess I'm one of the unlucky ones, eh?
