Error 0xFFFFFFFF

BlinddHeart

Question

So I've had this error for quite a few VPK now. such as the Toukiden Kiwami, COD Declassified, One Piece Burning Blood, Etc.

I made sure I redownload the file 2 or 3 times just to make sure my file isn't corrupted while downloading from the website, but here's my problem, after FTP the file over to my PS Vita 2000, when ever I press install, it would show me the installation progress bar then it would transition into an error, which is error 0xFFFFFFFF.

I have slightly more than double the space of the required space needed to install the game. the game posted on here is [TNW] so idk what's going on. For Example, COD Declassified is 2.23 GB, my ps vita have 5.02 GB. it gives me Error 0xFFFFFFFF... and the other day, I had 10 GB and it still failed to install Toukiden Kiwami, which is 3.36 gb I believe. my point is, even if the sce_module is available for some game to be replaced after the installation of the game, my point is, I can't even INSTALL the VPK file/game..

Make sure to delete every file in "ux0:ptmp/" beofre trying to install another vpk, this directory holds incomplete installations of applications and it takes up space on your memory card. Also, try to use this method here

I'll give it a try, but I have checked the ux0:ptmp folder before posting this and there wasn't anything in it. should I delete the folder (ux0:ptmp) itselfs?

Deleting the folder won't do anything as long as there's nothing in there, I'll try and gather information on your case. By the way are you using Henkaku R5 without shell modifications to vs0?

define shell modifications to vs0 please? nothing was mention so I never even know what it is till u just mention it

Somewhere inside the vs0 directory there is a file called "shell.self", this file controls specific operations done on the home screen such as holding down an icon and seeing things like "Delete". When you modify the shell you are replacing the shell.self file with one from a REX Vita. Think of a REX Vita being a dev unit sort of, don't quote me on that. Vitas that you can normally buy are CEX Vitas, don't quote me on that. By replacing the shell you gain access to something called "debug utility". It's not recommended to do this though because it's not fully compatible with Henkaku R5, soemthing similar is stated on the Henkaku website. If you just heard about this recently then that's probably not the thing causing your error.

I put the port and the server of which my ps vita hosted.

file zillion gave me "protocol error: unknown protocol identifier (0x50 0x50 0x48) mostly wrong port"

it's the right port. I've check

Make sure that both devices are connected to the same internet, that's why I usually send the files through usb; it's much faster and it won't fluctuate unlike my internet...

installed QCMA and launched it and it gave me entry point error. it's so much work.. so I'd rather stick to wifi..

That's fine, stick with ftp then if it suits you better. Before moving over the game check how much memory it occupies by right-clicking on the vpk and click the properties tab, you will then see the size of it in either MB or GB depending on the size of the game. When you drag it over to your Vita make sure the vpk file has the exact same file size as it did on your computer, there is an exception of being 1 or 2 mb different.

btw I've been using Turbo Client on my galaxy note 5 to transfer over FTP. SAO LS works when I use it too since my pc is extremely slow

I personally use Filezilla to move over smaller files from my pc, I find it to be the best ftp program. You should use whatever suits you better, if you have google chrome on your pc you could also try to use its built in ftp feature; just type in the ip and port like so 123.456.7.890:1337 into your url bar.

thanks for the help. anything else I can do to fix the issue with installation error 0xFFFFFFFF?

Sorry, everywhere else I search I get the same answer "Your game is corrupted or you don't have enought space" and "Try to transfer your game through the usb, it probably didn't transfer correctly through ftp." The only thing I have to say is try restarting your Vita. I'm very sorry that I couldn't fix your problem though, hopefully someone else comes up with a better solution.

at least you helped me out a lot, thanks so much. I'll wait and see if anyone else will comment or reply to help

Wait, there is one more thing that you could try. There are currently two applications that allow for installation through wifi, this will not require double space either. The first program is called PSVita VPK Installer and the second one is VitaOrganizer, they can be found in the "Tools" section of this post

by Gods. I've used both of these applications before and they both work great.
