ShinobuImplied
(6/29) I'll be posting further resolution hacks, so it'd be best if I kept them all in one thread then linked to each post. ASPHALT INJECTION _____________________ Thanks to @Kabuto_Kun, I applied his easy method for changing resolution methods via the eboot.bin edit, which bumped the resolution from 720x408 to 960x544 without any graphical errors. I think the bump in pixel density looks fantastic. ShinobuImplied
RIDGE RACER Original resolution - 720x408 New resolution - 960x544 Screenshots comparisons [Before/After/etc.]: This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Spoiler Framerate Tests (408p without oclockvita/408p and 544p with oclockvita) Spoiler 408p/Default- It's most often at 30FPS with ocassional dips to 28/29FPS, but Highland Cliffs especially gives it trouble, having pockets of 28FPS and dips in between a pack of cars. It can go as low as 25FPS. 408p/Maximum Performance- Menus are locked at 60fps with stuttering caused by loading vehicle or course models. Races are locked at 30FPS. 544p/Maximum Performance- Menus are at 60FPS with the same level of stutter caused by loading models, but the car preview is now in the mid 40s. I only found one dip to 29FPS across six courses, so it's otherwise locked at an evenly-paced 30FPS. Steps to editing the eboot: 1) Open the game's eboot.bin in a Hex Editor (HxD, PSPad) 2) Search for the hex value "D002000098010000" 3) Replace the value with "C003000020020000" You can read more about the process in the original thread - This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Edited June 30, 2017 by ShinobuImplied 3 1
SphereX
Working on a LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens 640x368 -> 960x544 mod. Even at native resolution it rarely drops frames, but it's still rather buggy. I'm pretty sure I know how to fix it :3 Spoiler
ShinobuImplied
This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Original resolution - 672x384 (for non-UI elements) New resolution - 960x544 Screenshots comparisons [Before/After/etc.]: This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Spoiler Framerate Test at 544p with oclockvita on minimum settings: Spoiler Summary- The first six chapters were a stable 30FPS except for a substantially long dip to 28FPS in particular scene at the start. The seventh chapter is where dips started showing up occasionally when it was the next character's action. Kupopo also caused dips to 27FPS or 28FPS when Rulutieh used Otome Tsubaki if auto-chain was turned off. This didn't happen for any other character's ability. This dip goes away if clock speeds are set to maximum speeds. Steps to editing the eboot: 1) Open the game's eboot.bin in a Hex Editor (HxD, PSPad) 2) Search for the hex value "2A0EA0E3061DA0E3" 3) Replace the value with "0F0DA0E3221EA0E3" Explanation of how the hack was found - This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up Edited August 27, 2017 by ShinobuImplied 2 1
