Update 12:

Added Option To Use Custom URL Links. (Check Below For More Details)

Hey guys I've added a new update which allows you to give your games url links, included with the Vita Manager.7z is a links.txt (if your not interested you can delete it) extract it with the rest of the files so it is in the same directory as the Vita Manager program If you open it up you will notice i have already added 2 url links which are for Phantasy Star Nova and Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax Ignition translation pages but if you want you can change the urls to youtube trailers, playstation store links or whatever you want this can be done for all your games if you wish, just follow this format:

CONTENTID - URL

If done correctly once you reopen the program you should see a ★ in front of the games title that means that game has a url attached to it and if you click the title it will launch the page if you don't see the star then it will simply copy its title to your clipboard (the tooltip will also say what clicking will do).

Update:

Added support for a pastebin list as well so if you don't want to use the links.txt simply create a pastebin account or sign into your pastebin account and create a new pastebin and set it as unlisted and permanent and put the CONTENTID - URL's in it and save then grab the raw link.

Here is an example:

This is the hidden content, please

Once you have your raw pastebin link just load up the program and click settings then paste it into the pastebin url box and click save and it should take effect straight away.

Update 13:

Fixed FTP Browser Not Deleting Files From Other Folders.

Added TickBox For Enabling Filesize On FTP Browser Instead Of It Always Being On. (FTP Browser Slower When Filesize Is Enabled)

Made A Few Other Tweaks And Fixes.

Update 14:

Added Max Character Length of 45 When Sending Files. (Just Incase)

Added Support For VPK Files In The Patches Folder As Well As CPK Files.

Made More Tweaks And Fixes.

Update 15:

Added Backup Section For Backing Up Your PSP/LICENSE Folder, license Folder, email Folder, AccountSwitcher Folder, ConsoleID.bin, Act.dat, id.dat And Registry Folder.

Added Playstation@Store XPD Reader.

Looks pretty useful. I'll finally be able to tell what game each folder belongs to instead of always going through their files when I forget what it was supposed to be.

Here's a few errors I've noticed so far:

  • The application crashes/closes once you select the path where your files are.
  • You can't change this path from within the app once it's set, as the option is grayed out (had to manually edit the settings file that was created).
  • Changes made to the settings file don't take effect until you reopen the app.
  • When attempting to send a file, I am unable to do so because it tells me to shorten its name (despite the game's folder only being named as the title id).
  • If new games or homebrew are added to the currently used path, they won't be listed until you switch the dropdown list.
  • I assume this one's a feature, but I'll list it anyway: folders for Homebrew and MaiDumpTool are automatically created in the selected path if they don't already exist.
  • If a game's name is long, it'll keep scrolling and overlap the rest of the text:
This is the hidden content, please

I'm using Windows 10, if that helps.

you shouldnt be receiving any errors did you fully extract the file including the dll and the folders?

when you first load it up click page 2 in the top right then click path and select the Files folder the app should then close after that just open it again and click page 2 and then click settings and check the ip address and click save.

now you can put your vpk files in the Files folder and your maidumptool folders in the MaiDumpTool folder then select it again in the dropdown box and it should reload

Yes, I fully extracted the file once I downloaded it.

I also made sure to check that various times and save my settings.

My current games are all maidumptool folders (they're already properly sorted, otherwise the game data wouldn't be visible from within your app) and a few homebrew vpk files; both of these are placed within the correct directories.

The settings and path buttons are under page 1 button, not page 2 though (and according to your screenshots that's the way it should be).

While typing out this post, I moved the Vita Manager folder to the desktop and it finally let me send files to my PSTV.

Apparently it doesn't work if the app's folder is within the Downloads folder (ie. C:\Users\\Downloads\Vita Manager) for some reason, which is where I had it when I made my earlier post.

Well, thanks for letting me know that it reloads by selecting the same folder from the dropdown list (I assumed it only worked by selecting something else) and that the whole "closing by itself" once you select a path is normal (it would be nice if it didn't do that though, but I guess it's because there's no other way for it to currently reload/refresh the selected path?).

Here's some other errors I found; some of the earlier mentioned stuff still applies, so I'll be including those again:

  • DLC has no cover art, despite the game itself having it and its file size is listed as 0.0 MB
This is the hidden content, please

  • If a game's name is long, it'll keep scrolling and overlap the rest of the text:
This is the hidden content, please

  • If the ftp connection is closed while something is being sent, the app will freeze.
  • You can't change this path from within the app once it's set, as the option is grayed out (had to manually edit the settings file that was created).
  • Again, not sure if this is an intended feature, but I'm still including and rewording it since it made more folders. Empty folders with the following structure will be created within any selected path if they do not already exist:
    - Vita Manager v0.1.3
    -- Files
    --- Homebrew
    --- MaidumpTool

The "Path" button is still grayed out (and can be seen in one of the screenshots I've shared), regardless of whether I have the app's folder and all its contents in my Desktop or previous location.

1. DLC has no cover art:

since dlc folders dont usually contain the sce_sys/icon0.png what it tries to is look in the titleids folder for example PCSE00912 and try to get the icon0.png from there if there is no other cover available but what usually happens is when you click on the PCSE00912 folder it will try to grab an image from the playstation store website if it cant it will try to use that games icon0.png so why you dont see a cover im unsure does the PCSE00912 game show a cover?

2. If a game's name is long, it'll keep scrolling and overlap the rest of the text:

thats strange i will take a look, ive only just changed the button layout because ive just added a few more buttons and they came down on top of the names text.

3. If the ftp connection is closed while something is being sent, the app will freeze.:

i will see if i can get it to test the connection first.

4. You can't change this path from within the app once it's set, as the option is grayed out:

yeah i see your point i will take care of that.

5. Again, not sure if this is an intended feature, but I'm still including and rewording it since it made more folders. Empty folders with the following structure will be created within any selected path if they do not already exist:

yeah since it looks at specific directories i figured i would get the app to create them if they didnt exist so you could just dump the files into them.

Yeah, the game displays an image, though it seems to be using the icon0.png since it looks rather blurry, compared to the cover art the other games would show. It's kind of odd that it won't grab the image from the Playstation store, since at least the game itself has one over there.

Thanks for replying, btw. I'll be looking forward to future updates of your app.

np i will see about downloading the game in question and see what happens with me, ive added alot of stuff to it the past 2 days so it may be something interfering with it.

@Gigant ok ive reuploaded it, give this new version a try and see what issues are left thanks.

1. i have added a 5 second timeout on the ftp stuff so if it cant connect it will tell you it cant and not crash the app.

2. the issue with the Danganronpa Another Episode Ultra Despair Girls scrolling title is because in the param it looks like this:

Danganronpa

Another Episode:

Ultra Despair Girls

so i have got my program to look for the contentid of that game and list it as one line instead.

3. i have set it up so you can click path anytime but it may still cause issues when changing the path after its already been set so it needs tested.

4. the reason the other game had no cover was because its contentid was UP0082-PCSE00912_00-BUILDERS00000000 which doesnt exist now so i told it too look for UP0082-PCSE00912_00-DQBDIGITALDAY1PV instead so it should work now and by doesnt exist i mean on the playstation store site.

so instead of this:

This is the hidden content, please
?

it gets this:

This is the hidden content, please
?

if you want download these and put them in the Covers folder and overwrite the ones thats there but close the program first.

Ah, thanks for looking into that and updating your app. The cover's working just fine now on both Dragon Quest Builders and its DLC.

Also tried using the path button multiple times and so far it hasn't given me any issues.

The Downloads folder issue from last night is gone. I was able to send files to my Vita from in there just fine.

It seems v0.1.4 wasn't available on here while I was typing out this reply. I have downloaded it and did all the testing below again.

The errors that no longer apply will have a strikethrough.

Current errors list:

  • Danganronpa Another Episode Ultra Despair Girls title still scrolls.
  • Dragon Quest Builders now shows the Japanese boxart by default.
This is the hidden content, please

  • If you rename a maidumptool folder from within the app, you'll be unable to rename it again as simply clicking on or selecting it with the arrow keys will instead take you inside the folder and show you its contents. I know there's no reason or need to rename these folders, but I thought it'd be worth looking into.
This is the hidden content, please

  • If there is currently no ftp connection (either because the ip is wrong or the connection hasn't been opened yet) the app will throw you the "Please Shorten The File Name" window.
  • I think this is still happening, though it was such a rare occurrence that I didn't bring it up last night and I can't seem to replicate it: Sometimes the app itself will have an error/crash regarding the .NET framework. It probably has to do with renaming a maidumptool folder (or possibly anything else also applies) externally while the app is still running. The error still happens if you select to Continue, as I had attempted to switch to the MaiDumpTool listing once more and had the same window show up (only this time, the edited folder name, as seen in the screenshot) was followed by the original.
This is the hidden content, please

  • The app still freezes when the connection is closed while sending a file.
  • When attempting to send Danganronpa Another Episode Ultra Despair Girls, it throws the "Please Shorten The File Name" window no matter where Vita Manager is.
This is the hidden content, please

  • Homebrew vpks (though it probably also affects other types of vpks too) cannot be renamed properly. (ie. I renamed whitelister1_1 to whitelister1_1 xtv and saved the changes. I decided to remove/rename it back to normal, but it doesn't allow you to simply erase whatever you added from within the app and would only allow me to make changes if it was either something completely different after the original name, an entirely different name, or if I removed at least 1 character from the original name.)

Suggestions:

  • If possible, allow the user to change the default displayed folder. It always shows "Games" by default, but as I currently have no game vpk files, I always have to change it to MaiDumpTool in the dropdown list.
  • Include a button to cancel whatever file is currently being sent.
  • Include an option to display how much progress, speed, and/or time is left while a file is being sent (ie. 0/500 MB Sent, Speed 700kbps, 10 Min Left).

2. i will look into a cancel and some sort of estimation if possible.

3. as you requested i have added a way to choose the default category, download the latest version and check the settings menu.

4. renaming folders is not great, test it again with the latest version as i have changed a little bit of it but i would recommend not changing folder names through the program its best to just close it and do it manually.

im heading out for 30mins or so then i will take a look at what else i can do.

Edit:

Back, also just realised i set up Ultra Despair Girls for my region and not yours so download it now and try thanks.

Oh no, I meant that it still had the same type of scrolling I showed in my screenshots last night, sorry for not being specific.

This is the hidden content, please

After looking at your screenshot though, I think I know why it's still the same: Your game is the EU version, while mine's the USA one.

  • I seem to be getting this window sometimes when I open the new version you put up before you went out (it happened twice in a row and when I first hit the settings button). It seems to happen every once in a while now:
This is the hidden content, please

  • Upon choosing a different default category via settings, the app creates a new folder on the root and the files won't show up unless they're in that particular folder, completely ignoring anything that's in the selected path:
This is the hidden content, please

  • In addition to the above, I have noticed that when you select a new default folder, this completely overwrites the selected path (ie. Instead of using \Vita Manager\Files\ or w/e other path you chose, it will change it to \Vita Manager\)
  • The new version has the maidumptool game folder renamed bug I mentioned earlier (showing the folders contents whenever selected), despite the folders having their original names and it seems to only happen while the games are in the selected path and not the newly created folders from the bug above.

  • The new version has the maidumptool game folder renamed bug I mentioned earlier (showing the folders contents whenever selected), despite the folders having their original names and it seems to only happen while the games are in the selected path and not the newly created folders from the bug above.

sorry i didnt realise i wasnt on page 2 if you look i edited the comment and uploaded a new version

I've downloaded v0.1.4 for the third time (which I assume is still the current/new version since it's the link you have here and elsewhere), and after some closer testing, it seems that selecting a path is what's causing bugs now.

Current error list:

  • Selecting a path causes the program to always throw .NET error windows when you open it or try to edit the settings.

  • While using a selected path, any maidumptool game folder that is selected will directly go into their contents.
  • The program still creates additional folders on the root when selecting a default folder in settings instead of using the ones found in the selected path.

  • Only the newly created folders from selecting a default folder work properly and do not cause .NET error windows.
  • Selecting a default folder still resets/changes the selected path to the root folder where Vita Manager is located.

Danganronpa Another Episode's title shows up properly now. Thanks!

ok i figured out why you were getting that error at startup, i told it to write nothing to the settings.txt by default when its first created and then it tries to read from that for the dropdown box so i told it to set it to 0 instead which translates to the Games section and that solved it.

try the one marked: Updated 02:01 - 01/11/2016

oh i should point out if you select another path you will need to copy the tmp folder over to it because that has required files in it so that may be causing you some issues too.

Edit:

as far as the maidumptool entering folders, if its working correctly it should only enter a folder if it doesnt detect sce_sys/param.sfo inside if you dont want it to enter a folder that doesnt contain sce_sys/param.sfo let me know what it actually is and i should be able to tell it to ignore that one if its a game or dlc etc.

and as for the folders named Label19 at the start that means its not reading the directory properly from the settings.txt i have just tweaked it so maybe thats fixed now but i cant seem to get it to do that for me.

any folders with something like Label19 in front just delete.

Please note that this post was made before you edited your third reply in a row, so I'm unsure of what other issue you are talking about or if it's related to something I had mentioned earlier. I will redownload your app again and report any testing or changes that occur with that version in another post; it will be referred to as v0.1.4(4).

To avoid confusion, I will start referring the tweaked versions of your app according to their download name in my posts. (ie. If v0.1.4 is released and bugfixes are made to it, I redownload it and it's named v0.1.4(1) since I still have the original .7z file and so on.

v0.1.4(2)

Well, I did only set the path once and then changed the default folder/category via the settings button and the aforementioned errors would happen. Thanks for taking a look into them and fixing them.

That was affecting every game folder and they all contained sce_sys/param.sfo; in my testing the included game folders were:

  • Dragon Quest Builders (USA)
  • Dragon Quest Builders DLC (USA)
  • Danganronpa Another Episode (USA)
  • Adventures of Mana (USA)

Odd enough, the only thing that was not affected by that bug was the dlc folder.

v0.1.4(3)

I have redownloaded your app once more and that issue is finally taken cared of. I still have the .7z files of the old ones so I can tell which one's the latest; perhaps the problem was that the earlier download link had yet to be updated?

It's no longer making additional "Label19" folders, which is good, because earlier it would make them no matter and it was mandatory to use them if I had set a default folder/category...

Current error list:

  • It takes a while for the app to unfreeze itself if the connection is closed while sending a file (I didn't keep track, though it was probably somewhere around 5 minutes, more or less?)
  • The progress bar stays on the app if the connection was closed during transfer.
  • Sometimes the progress bar's currently displayed progression will be reset (ie. It's at 41, it instantly goes back to 0, then jumps back to 41; the progress bar stays blank until the number goes up again)
  • After Danganronpa Another Episode finished being sent to my Vita, this began to happen whenever I selected it:
This is the hidden content, please

  • In regards to the above, apparently your app deleted the game after it finished being sent as it's no longer in the maidumptool folder.

I didn't realize the reason some game cover art kept changing again (DQB and Adventures of Mana) was because there were covers for them already included in the latest version of your app and I was about to list it as an error again. My bad.

Suggestions:

  • Include the percentage symbol next to the progress bar's number
  • Perhaps include a message somewhere that says "Please wait while your file is being sent to the system" or something like that when a file is currently being sent, seeing as you can't really use the app during that process.

released another update, this one will allow the tmp folder to not get so messy :)

if you want to empty the tmp folder before loading this updated program feel free but dont delete the xpd.txt if it exists only delete the folders inside of the tmp folder.

never delete the tmp folder itself because it also contains the pkgview and winscp program this needs to work.
