Inconsistent Experiences Within the Community...

Vita Queen

Question

Hello,

I've been in the Vita homebrew scene for a while and have had a relatively enjoyable time. There's been some ups and downs but overall, I can't complain. Now here I am writing on a forum that links to dozens of dumps and every single time I look in a thread I see the same thing, and that is the inconsistent experiences users have. Too many people keep saying that the framerate is bad and amphetamine is the only way to enjoy the game. Then there are other people out there who say the game crashes and numerous other things that can happen upon installing a dump.

This is weird to me because I've never once had lag in complaint-ridden games like Dragon Quest Builders or World of Final Fantasy. I've never had any sort of other issue with how a game should run, or a game running at all. Granted, I have a PSTV and not a PS Vita, so is that the reason why I'm not experiencing these issues? It wouldn't make sense considering that they're the same hardware, so perhaps the people who preemptively installed plugins and whatnot like amphetamine, which actually worsen playing experiences are their own worse enemy? You never know if the things you install cause some performance issues and I know I've only installed dumps and the essential installing software like MaiDumpTool.

That being said, what do you think is the problem here? Is my Playstation Tv somehow stronger than any other Playstation TVs and PS Vitas out there, or is there something along the lines of people installing software that they believe will improve performance, which in actuality causes the opposite effect? I'm curious to hear what you all have to say.

Maybe is subjective, like "I don't care of a frame rate drop... or just didn't notice them" if you play a game on 60 FPS with Ver sync and all of that, the switch to 30 fps + Frame Rate Drop is notable, I simply don't care I love handhelds (I have a PSP, a PSVITA and a 3DS, and looking forward to buy the Nintendo Switch) and no game (except for attack on titan, that FR drops are evident) give me an unconfortable gameplay experience.

I had taken that into consideration and I came to the conclusion that none of us would have the choice to ignore frames dropping, or any other poor performance. Everything runs perfect for me.

I'm also playing on my PSTV and noticed the fps issues, but in the case of DQB and WoFF it doesn't make them any less enjoyable imo (or playable, I suppose).

Sure, those small sudden drops aren't as bad as most people make them out to be, but in the long run they can get a bit annoying.

I had already cleared the first two chapters of DQB without Better Amphetamine and had only downloaded that after I saw a few people complaining on reddit about WoFF; I noticed the sudden improvements in crowded areas or when placing many blocks in a row (though I can't tell if it's improved WoFF though... Perhaps I'm just not looking in the right place).

It's probably just that some people are more sensitive to these things, because I've played games that have worse fps issues throughout other platforms (Gurumin 3D, HM: Animal Parade, a few PSP games whose names I can't recall, but one of them was a manga fighting game, etc.) and one or two of my friends would just not be able to tell how terrible it was, saying that the game that was shown to them didn't have any issues whatsoever.
