Note: The start of the Festival of Regina Leone FMVs (1 per character) are not hardsubbed, you can Please login or register to see this link. . The Memorial Fires cutscenes are softsubbed. FFX-2 promotional video accessible from the main menu was nuked.

FMVs in this game are multiplexed more like a standard mpeg-ps/ts, re-muxing them with ps2str or PSS Plex results in a horribly stuttering sound throughout. At this point I don't know how to work around the issue, so I gave up for now. If anyone would like to take a crack at this at some point, Please login or register to see this link. to give you a head start in such endeavour.

Even if beta, thank you so much for releasing it.
I strongly stand by and prefer beta undubs than no undubs at all because the experience is definitely gonna be still more enjoyable with beta undub than with English dub :P
With that said, I still hope someone can figure out how to solve locking issues so that all FMVs can be hardsubbed and game still fully playable but regardless, this is a great release and it comes around perfectly just when Square Enix announced SaGa Frontier Remaster :D

@OldClassicGamer This one is a special case, since the videos in question are extremely insubstantial and their contents can be comprehended from the context even with no sound tbh + the player can check the subbed cutscenes online at any point. Won't be losing any sleep over posting an incomplete undub like this one. Anyway, thanks for your support!
Would've been great to eventually crack the problematic FMVs like these, lots of early PS2 games seem to have the videos encoded in this way, and they're oddly picky in regards to how to mux them, too.

The game itself is a diamond in the rough, glad I gave it a fair chance.
So yeah, I guess this concludes the undubs for the series? Dunno if it's easy to swap the audio in Scarlet Grace.

@swoshoI'll try asking around if someone has any tools to suggest regarding FMVs but yeah, like you said, it's all subbed on YouTube plus context is understandable ;)

With Scarlet Grace, I am not sure how it goes for the original Vita version, but expanded PC port is very easy to be undubbed.
Literally just a swapping as described here:

Can't believe Square Enix couldn't simply program the main menu option to select audio language...

When this game was coming, I preordered it. I happily picked it up, and then went back to the store two hours later to sell it back (and take the hit). Seriously one of the worst experiences I've had, and arguably one of Akitoshi Kawazu's biggest failures. Many years later, we get SaGa Re; Universe and suddenly I want to know the back story to the characters from Unlimited Saga. I downloaded it here, decided to find cheats (to make it easier to breeze through so I can just get through the stories), and couldn't find any.

So, I searched high and low, and found some PAR codes which I converted, and then painstakingly converted entry by entry into a PNACH file for PCSX2 (it took a good two hours). After an hour of finally playing through the game, I lost interest. The codes worked perfectly, but honestly even they couldn't save how bad the game is. Thank you, Swosho for taking the time to provide this to us. Even though it didn't work out, I was able to sate my curiosity.

I'm uploading the PNACH of the cheat codes here in case anybody actually will find use for it. Cheers, everyone!

      Hidden Content
Give reaction or reply to this topic to see the hidden content. Undubbed completely. In comparison with another undub out there in the wild, this one features fully restored Japanese voice clips, subtitled intro FMV, adjusted cutscene audio length to prevent crashes after some cutscenes, a full-length "bike key" FMV + its "costumed" variations are now undubbed.
      Notes:
※ The Japanese version uses more sfx voice clips in several audio banks, so those extras didn't make it into this undub.
※ A handful of the non-cutscene voice clips had to be either slightly downsampled or had their silent parts at the end trimmed.

      Notes:
※ The subs are timed to the English voice track and they're often not too faithful to the original Japanese script.
      ※ The Japanese lip-sync wasn't carried over.
※ The Japanese version uses more sfx voice clips across the board, so those extras didn't make it into this undub.
※ A handful of the non-cutscene voice clips had to be either slightly downsampled or had their silent parts at the end trimmed.
If you're playing in widescreen (pls don't) and/or using cheats on PCSX2, be sure to rename your pnaches to reflect the modified executable's new checksum:
      "5848889C.pnach" -> "5A1410AB.pach".

      Hidden Content
Give reaction or reply to this topic to see the hidden content. Midway has kept most of the Japanese combat voice clips in the localised versions of the game, this undub addresses the scant remaining English audio and FMV cutscenes. Long-requested by @zarusama
